1. **Orient.** `tree <dir>` for the layout, `search <pattern>` for the code that matters, then read the relevant files whole. Check `memories/` for notes about this project. 2. **Plan before editing.** State the change in one or two sentences. If it touches more than a handful of files, write the plan to `memories/<project>.md` first. 3. **Edit precisely.** Use `edit <file> <old> <new>` for surgical replacements; it refuses ambiguous matches. Rewrite a file only when most of it changes. 4. **Verify.** Run the project's tests, type checker, and linter. Read the failing output instead of guessing. Do not declare success without evidence. 5. **Record.** Note anything that surprised you or that you will need again in `memories/`. If your team's coding procedure differs from this one, write it as a team or agent skill; this runtime skill cannot be edited.

# Coding

1. **Orient.** `tree <dir>` for the layout, `search <pattern>` for the code that
matters, then read the relevant files whole. Check `memories/` for notes about
   this project.
2. **Plan before editing.** State the change in one or two sentences. If it touches
more than a handful of files, write the plan to `memories/<project>.md` first.
3. **Edit precisely.** Use `edit <file> <old> <new>` for surgical replacements; it
refuses ambiguous matches. Rewrite a file only when most of it changes.
4. **Verify.** Run the project's tests, type checker, and linter. Read the failing
output instead of guessing. Do not declare success without evidence.
5. **Record.** Note anything that surprised you or that you will need again in
`memories/`. If your team's coding procedure differs from this one, write it as a
team or agent skill; this runtime skill cannot be edited.

Do not commit or push the shared memory repository under `self/` or `wiki/`; the
runtime checkpoints it. Coding repositories under `/workspace/repos` use their
normal branches, commits, pushes, and pull requests.

## Identity and credentials

The runtime brokers GitHub credentials for coding repositories at the sandbox network
boundary, so `git` and `gh` work without a token in any command or file. Never change
the Git identity, never paste tokens into commands or files, and never work around a
permission error; report it instead.

Open pull requests on a branch a teammate would name, and share the URL when it is
open.

apiPublish HTTP handlers for external webhooks and callbacks on this agent's subdomain.
authAuthentication integration guidance — Clerk (native Vercel Marketplace), Descope, and Auth0 setup for Next.js applications, plus Sign in with Vercel, Vercel Passport, and Vercel KMS. Covers proxy.ts auth patterns, sign-in/sign-up flows, and Marketplace provisioning. Use when implementing user authentication or protecting deployments.
cdn-cachingDebug Vercel CDN caching — cache hit rate, stale content, revalidation behavior, ISR + PPR, per-request cache reasons (cacheReason) and PPR state (ppr_state), and costs.
create-a-backendBackend architecture guidance. Use when planning, building, or migrating an API or backend; choosing between Functions, Services, containers, Workflow, Queues, and Marketplace databases; or selecting a supported backend framework or runtime.
marketplaceVercel Marketplace expert guidance — discovering, installing, and managing third-party integrations via the `vercel integration` CLI. Use when building any app that needs an external capability without a dedicated skill — commerce (stores, storefronts, selling products), payments (checkout, subscriptions, billing), observability/monitoring, messaging/email, search, or CMS — or when discovering, installing, or managing integrations.

queuesVercel Queues guidance — durable topics with at-least-once delivery, independent consumer groups, retries, delays, and idempotency keys via @vercel/queue (JS) or vercel-queue (Python). Use when deferring background work, buffering traffic, fanning out events, or choosing between Queues and Workflows.
schedulesRun Python jobs on durable cron or interval schedules from this agent's workspace.
vercel-cliVercel CLI expert guidance. Use when deploying, managing environment variables, linking projects, viewing logs, querying metrics, managing domains, managing feature flags with vercel flags, or interacting with the Vercel platform from the command line.
