List and manage Azure resources using MCP tools

  • Identify user's need for Azure resource management tasks.
  • Deploys Az CLI commands to list, create, query, and monitor Azure resources.
  • Decides on the appropriate Az CLI command based on the task requested by the user.
  • Delivers results in real-time through MCP tooling interface.

# Azure MCP Best Practices

## Tool Selection

| Task | Tool | Example |
| -------------------- | ---------------------- | ----------------------------------- |
| List resources | `mcp__azure__*_list` | Storage accounts, Key Vault secrets |
| Get resource details | `mcp__azure__*_get` | Container details, database info |
| Create resources | `mcp__azure__*_create` | New secrets, storage containers |
| Query data | `mcp__azure__*_query` | Log Analytics, Cosmos DB |

## Common Operations

### Storage

- `storage_accounts_list` - List storage accounts
- `storage_blobs_list` - List blobs in container
- `storage_blobs_upload` - Upload file to blob

### Key Vault

- `keyvault_secrets_list` - List secrets
- `keyvault_secrets_get` - Get secret value
- `keyvault_secrets_set` - Create/update secret

### Cosmos DB

- `cosmosdb_databases_list` - List databases
- `cosmosdb_containers_list` - List containers
- `cosmosdb_query` - Query documents

### AKS

- `aks_clusters_list` - List AKS clusters
- `aks_nodepools_list` - List node pools

### Monitor

- `monitor_logs_query` - Query Log Analytics

## Authentication

Azure MCP uses Azure Identity SDK. Authenticate via:

- `az login` (Azure CLI - recommended)
- VS Code Azure extension
- Environment variables (service principal)

SkillDescription
adhd-output-styleThis skill should be used when the user asks for "ADHD output", "fewer output tokens", "short numbered steps", "limited working memory formatting", or explicitly invokes "adhd-output-style".
anthropic-frontend-designGuidance for distinctive, intentional visual design when building new UI or reshaping an existing one. Helps with aesthetic direction, typography, and making choices that don't read as templated defaults.
clean-gone-branchesThis skill should be used when user asks to "clean gone branches", "remove deleted local branches", "prune branches removed from remote", or explicitly invokes "clean-gone-branches".
commit-stagedThis skill should be used when user asks to "commit these changes", "write commit message", "stage and commit", "create a commit", "commit staged files", or explicitly invokes "commit-staged".
docUse when the task involves reading, creating, or editing `.docx` documents, especially when formatting or layout fidelity matters; prefer `python-docx` plus the bundled `scripts/render_docx.py` for visual checks.
dokploy-deployThis skill should be used when user asks to "deploy with Dokploy", "use Dokploy Cloud", "manage self-hosted Dokploy", "deploy Docker Compose on Dokploy", "manage Dokploy databases", "configure Dokploy domains", or "look up Dokploy CLI commands".
electronAutomate Electron desktop apps (VS Code, Slack, Discord, Figma, Notion, Spotify, etc.) using agent-browser via Chrome DevTools Protocol. Use when the user needs to interact with an Electron app, automate a desktop app, connect to a running app, control a native app, or test an Electron application. Triggers include "automate Slack app", "control VS Code", "interact with Discord app", "test this Electron app", "connect to desktop app", or any task requiring automation of a native Electron application.
fable-advisorThis skill should be used when the user asks for a "Fable second opinion", wants to "check a plan before committing", needs another view after repeated failures, or explicitly invokes "fable-advisor".
gcloud-usageThis skill should be used when user asks about "GCloud logs", "Cloud Logging queries", "Google Cloud metrics", "GCP observability", "trace analysis", or "debugging production issues on GCP".
hetzner-deployThis skill should be used when user asks to "deploy to Hetzner", "create Hetzner server", "manage Hetzner Cloud", "hcloud CLI", or works with Hetzner Cloud infrastructure including servers, networks, firewalls, load balancers, DNS zones, and volumes.
